Salon de la mode enfantine

Promotion

1994 - 1996

Started by the children’s apparel industry in 1994, the Salon de la mode enfantine was a bi-annual event held over three days.

The goal was to promote the collections of Quebec children’s clothing companies to Canadian and American retailers. Presented at the Montreal Convention Centre, the Salon went from only 25 exhibitors in its first year to nearly 200 the next. Among the participants were La Mère Michèle, Erika Eriksson, Ma Divine Clémentine, Louis Garneau, Souris Mini and Deux par Deux. The co-founder of Deux par Deux, Maurice Elmaleh, was president of the Salon de la mode enfantine organizing committee. Largely funded by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Science and Technology, the event ceased operations in 1996 after five seasons.
