Kathleen Kovats

Kathleen Kovats was the owner and designer of an eponymous brand of women’s clothing from 1990 to 2009. Her collections were aimed primarily at working women and offered moderately priced ensembles for work and evening, along with wedding dresses. She created both ready-to-wear and custom clothing.

A native of New Brunswick, Kathleen Kovats initially studied business administration and linguistics at the University of Ottawa. After earning her bachelor’s degree, she began studying fashion design at LaSalle College in Montreal.

In the early 2000s, Kathleen Kovats sold her clothing exclusively through her three stores, two in Montreal and one in Ottawa. After closing her shops, she worked for Cirque du Soleil.
