Huguette Fecteau

Born in Saint-Anges, 1962

Designer

Since 1988

Huguette Fecteau is a designer who specializes in leather fashions. With an atelier on Rue du Petit-Champlain in Quebec City, she personally designs and produces custom-made pieces as well as a ready-to-wear collection sold exclusively at La Pomme, a store located on nearby Rue Sous-le-Fort.

Huguette Fecteau works with different types of leather, including deerskin, cowhide, pigskin and lambskin, in a variety of colours.

After earning a degree in visual arts from Université Laval in 1985 and a diploma in fashion arts from Campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy in 1988, Huguette Fecteau began working as a theatrical costumer. Two years later, she started specializing in leather, suede and shearling. In 1993, she opened her third studio in the Petit-Champlain district. She initially produced leather garments for various theatrical productions and then expanded her collection to the general public.

She has designed coats, jackets, pants, corsets, and the occasional special order, like costumes inspired by the X-Men film series! To meet her clients’ needs, the clothing can be customized down to the smallest detail, including the type of leather, lining, buttons, etc. Huguette Fecteau produces drawings for her clients’ approval before starting production.
