Hoa Tchung was a Victoriaville designer of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear in the 1980s and 1990s. A native of Vietnam, he fled his country during the war and came to Quebec as a refugee at the age of 17. After learning the basics of fashion design from his host family, he did an internship in a clothing factory and studied at LaSalle College. In 1985, Hoa Tchung started his own label and opened a studio/store at 22 Rue Perreault in Victoriaville. He received several awards and honours in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
