When Frank And Oak was founded in 2012 by Ethan Song and Hicham Ratnani, it was a ready-to-wear brand for men ages 20 to 35. Every month, it released limited editions of affordable, trendy clothing. Offering a personalized shopping experience (café, barber, etc.) and online content delivered to subscribers, the young brand focussed on encouraging men to dress with style.

Modern, fitted cuts, even for the basics, and original prints defined the Frank And Oak identity.

The products were designed in Montreal and produced outside the country.

Over the years, Frank And Oak has positioned itself as a key player in Canadian men’s fashion. As of 2018, it has 16 stores across the country, including its head office, which is still on St. Viateur Street in Montreal. Thanks to its Website and pop-up shops, it reaches a broad international clientele, primarily in the United States.

Frank And Oak has developed several avant-garde concepts for its online sales, like the monthly subscription box of clothing chosen by a stylist and two-hour delivery in some major Canadian cities. The company’s flair for innovation has attracted funding from several major investors, including the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec.

In 2016, Frank And Oak began offering collections for women as well. The brand, which has always promoted diversity by employing models of various backgrounds, is also increasingly focussed on reducing its carbon footprint and giving back to the community.
