Brigitte Bergeron

Brigitte Bergeron is a fashion designer specialized in knitwear. A fashion design graduate of LaSalle College in Montreal, she began working in the industry in 1983 as an assistant designer at Splendor Knitting Mills. This was followed by a job as design director from 1986 to 2003 with Golden Knitting Mills, where she was in charge of a line of sweaters for adults and children. In addition to her salaried work, she launched four collections of sportswear under the Brigitte Bergeron label in 1990 and 1991.

She subsequently spent four years as a designer for FDJ French Dressing Inc., the owner of various ready-to-wear brands, and was a buyer for a year at Le Château.

From 2008 to 2018, Brigitte Bergeron was product development manager and senior knitwear designer for the Montreal group Fred David, which specializes in the design and production of private labels for other companies, primarily major American retailers like JCPenney and Kohl’s. In May 2018, she was hired as a buyer for the San Francisco brand of Groupe Marie Claire.
