Auclair

Brand

Since 1945

Auclair is a brand of gloves designed for winter sports like cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, mountaineering, speed skating and running. In fact, many Canadian Olympic athletes wear them in competition. The gloves come in various models, which are either made of different types of leather or synthetic materials with specific technical properties. The bulk of the company’s production is carried out in China.

Founded in 1945 by Renée and Mathieu Auclair, Auclair was purchased in 1990 by Paris Glove of Canada Ltd., a family-owned business that owns the Kodiak brand, among others. In 2011, the American firm New Wave Group (NWG) purchased all of Paris Glove, including Auclair. The Paris Glove of Canada head office is still in Montreal, on Cohen Street, where some sixty people work for the Auclair brand.

As of 2018, Auclair products are sold in 12 countries, including 350 stores in North America.
