Anastasia Radevich is an artist who uses shoes as a canvas. Her spectacular creations, which she crafts by hand in Montreal, require an expertise not unlike that of haute couture. They are often vehicles for a socially engaged message. For example, a pair of shoes from the Lost Civilizations collection features a heel formed of three-dimensional letters spelling out “This Will Destroy You.”

Born in the city of Minsk in Belarus, Anastasia Radevich belongs to the third generation of a family of shoemakers.

She first moved to Montreal in the late 1990s and worked as a designer for ALDO shoes. In 2008, she left Quebec for London, England, where she studied footwear design at the London College of Fashion. While living in the British capital, she worked with the renowned designers Alexander McQueen and Nicholas Kirkwood.

Anastasia Radevich returned to Montreal in 2009 to launch her eponymous brand, which she designs in her Marie-Anne Street East studio. Since then, her work has been exhibited in several museums around the world, notably at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the Erarta Contemporary Art Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia.
